IPU to probe PA complaint of rights violations

Convenor of the PA parliamentarians on Hu-man Rights Violations, Jeyaraj Fernandopulle in a statement claimed Thursday that the Secretary-General of the Inter-Parliamentary Union in Geneva had assured that the complaint regarding human rights violation of 14 PA MPs would be inquired. Fernandopulle notes that the IPU would call details regarding such violations of the rights of 14 MPs from the Speaker.

The 14 MPs listed in the complaint are Anuruddha Ratwatte, Mahindananda Aluth-gamage, Dilan Perera, Duminda Dissanayake, Mangala Samaraweera, Felix Perera, Jagath Pushpakumara, Jeyaraj Fernandopulle, D. M. Dassanayake, Ajantha de Soysa, Reggie Ranatu-nge, Pavithra Wanniara-chchi, Nadaraja Madan-arasa and Sarana Guna-wardena.
