|Qatar Airways opens deluxe Colombo office
Qatar Airways last week opened a new office in Colombo incorporating trends and standards of the international sales and marketing offices of the fast-growing airline.
Speaking at Fridays opening, Delmege Forsyth Group Chairman F. G. N. Mendis said that the new office was designed to include the exotic ambience of the Arabian Gulf together with international aviation design standards.
"A majority of the furniture and fittings which are reminiscent of traditional Arabic designs have been flown down and are the hallmark of the new office," he said. The new office will facilitate both passenger sales as well as cargo operations.
Ministers Mahinda Samarasinghe, Rauf Hakeem and Gamini Lokuge as well as other airline and travel industry executives were present at the opening.
Qatar Airways is represented here by Delmege Forsyth Tours (Pvt) Limited, a member of the Delmege Forsyth Group of Companies.
The airline recently increased its flight frequency to Sri Lanka to five a week.
Mr. Sulaiman Almaskari, Qatars District Sales Manager here said that their newly launched division, Qatar Airways Holidays, has proved to be extremely popular offering 50 destinations in 32 countries together with attractive packages for holidays in Qatar.
