Prelate invited to queen’s jubilee celebration

Ven. Dr. Medagama Vajiragnana Thero, Chief Sanga Nayake of Great Britain and the Head of London Buddhist Vihara was invited to represent Buddhists at the Queen’s Golden Jubilee celebrations.

Dr. Vajiragnana visited Buckingham Palace on June 10 at the invitation of the Queen and met the Queen and the other members of the Royal family.

He also represented the Buddhists at the special service held at St. Paul’s Cathedral a few weeks ago to bless the Queen.

Dr. Vajiragnana told the ‘Sunday Island’ that the London Buddhist Vihara was organising a Special Pooja to commemorate the Queen’s Golden Anniversary on the July 10 and Princess Anne will be attending it representing the Queen.
