Milo President’s Trophy schools quarters
Royal powers into semis in style

Title favourites Royal College swamped S.Thomas'.College Mount Lavinia by 43 points ( four goals, three tries) to 3 ( one penalty) in a lop-sided Milo President’s Trophy schools knockout quarter final match at Reid Avenue yesterday.

Royal’s score is believed to be the best in the history of the President’s Trophy series.

But it is subject to confirmation.

At half time the winners led 24-3.

Unbeaten Royal proved they were in a class of their own this season by running down as many as seven unanswered tries against a hapless Thomian outfit.

For the rampaging Royal XV dynamic centre Rajith Jayasundere led the way with a hat-trick of tries while winger Avish Rashid scored two tries.

The other two tries were planted by flanker Prabath Udugampola and full back Chamath Dhanawansa respectively.

Dhanawansa contributed 13 points alone by way of a converted try and three other conversions.

For STC fly half Wasim Thajudeen kicked a penalty.
