Tea, in next agenda

Enterprise Development, Industrial Policy and Investment Promotion Ministry is organizing a series of seminars to release the sectoral plans that are being developed by sixteen industry task forces important to the economic growth and development of Sri Lanka. These plans are the culmination of a dialogue between the ministry and private sector that will support Sri Lanka’s competitiveness.

The next seminar will include the spices, coir, tea and food products industries. The chairmen of each task force will make a presentation outlining how his or her industry intends to develop over the next five years and what they need from the government to make it a success.

The workshop will be held on Tuesday at Committee Room ‘A’, BMICH.

The keynote address will be delivered by Minister G. L. Peiris, followed by the presentations given by the task force chairmen. The theme of the seminar is Strategies for growth, How will industry compete? A forum for change." Among the other speakers are:- Spices: Dr. Devapriya Nugawela; Coir: Indrajith Piyasena; Tea: Mahen Dayananda and Food: Mario De Alwis. Ministry Secretary Ranjith Fernando will make the closing remarks.
