PA’s desperation

The current conduct and the behaviour of the PA headed by the President Chandrika Kumaratunga immensely betrays the sickly psychology of the outfit. It is as if the whole caravan was put on an SOS footing.

Hot a single limb is allowed to lie idle in this singular task of toppling the Wickremesinghe government. The earnestness with which the struggle is made to mount upon the nation has been doubled ever since the Prime Minister had a colourful reception in United States recently. It is now clear as broad day light, the call to the cadre by the highest in their circles "Destroy this government by fair or foul means at your quickest".

The jealousy created by the fraternal American accommodation in the minds of the PA hierachy is so limitless that it has begun to burst from the seems or rather from the body.

The outburst of Anura Bandaranaike of recent times against the President Bush of America does reveal utterly the bankruptcy of the former than help settle our affairs one wee bit. The US reaction seems to be ‘The dog barks but the caravan moves". Anura should begin to learn the "Golden Rule" theory.

This theory is very simple, for anyone to learn. It is simply this — that anyone who holds gold makes the rule. Anura has done immense damage to the quality of this nation’s character, internationally and nationally.

It is very relevant to understand the reason for this accelerated drive to topple the government. It is nothing but the clear sighting of the future horizon.

The PA are beginning to see the governments success in all fields of important activity. Although many seem to identify the ‘Peace Making’ as the country’s number one priority, it is not.

The nation’s immediate priority is the building of her devastated economy, its looted economy so looted by the economy’s very custodians. If by any misfortune this country’s people gave Chandrika another spell of power at the last general elections by now the president would have been pulling our troops out from Jaffna theatre, due to the lack of funds to maintain the army and that would have helped create Eelam for the LTTE without the loss of one terrorist. And that in fact was the design of the terrorists, destroying the country’s valuable assets such as the Katunayaka airports Central Bank in Fort and Pettah bus stand and all other properties of the nation.

The fear psychosis that was so successfully created around the Colombo harbour did its massive share of economic damage to the country by the LTTE. The achievement of peace therefore would amount to a corollary to the achievement of economic well being.

The PA stalwarts are quick to realize that the government is poised in the right direction although in an apologetic strain and if allowed to proceed unhampered will arrive at their economic — destination sooner or later.

This should not be allowed if we are to get an entitlement to the plum and therefore drive all kings (or rather Queens) horses and all the kings men to mayhem and — destruction and here you have the tried set of iconoclasts — the JVP given to destruction.

Virily a situation of challenge! If the Prime Minister fails to meet the threat with equal threat, then I will say good bye to this government’s luck and the country’s future.
