Nurse summoned for wrong injection

A nurse at the Kalubowila teaching hospital who had allegedly given a wrong injection to a patient was summoned by the police yesterday on a complaint made by the husband of the victim.

The patient, a mother of two children, is now in a critical condition. She was identified as Srima Boteju (38).

The nurse had told police that she administered the injection in accordance with instructions given by a doctor, OIC (MO branch) Champika Lakshman said.

The doctor concerned will also be summoned to the police through the director of the hospital, he said.
