Abans associated with LG the global partner of the ICC Champions Trophy which is a landmark in the sporting history of Sri Lanka. For the first time, an international cricket tournament of this magnitude in which 12 national teams of the world’s leading cricketing nations are participating.

Abans have organized various events as part of a month long celebration to mark this event that was inaugurated in a ceremony at the R. Premadasa Cricket Stadium on September 12 by the Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe.

"The LG Man at the Match" contest organized by Abans, as part of the celebrations, closed on September 5 and the draw was held September 7 at Abans main showroom in Kollupitiya. The first prize of an LG refrigerator was won by A. L. F. Riaza of Gampola. The second Prize of an LG washing machine was won by Edwin D’Soyza of Colombo. And the third prize of an LG colour television was won by Nanda Wijekoon of Ampara. There were also 47 other prizes of LG products and 300 match tickets for the ICC Champions Trophy.
