"Police headquarters categorically states that any such Seniority List was not sent either to the President or to the Minister by Police Headquarters," Director, PPR SSP Rienzie Perera said in a statement.

"Furthermore, police headquarters wishes to inform that Kotakadeniya retired from the police force with effect from 19.03.2002 and was serving thereafter on a contract for a period of six months, which expired on the 18th September, 2002. After his retirement, he has purchased his weapon and the car which he is entitled to," the statement added.
