Enlivened thinking for empowered living

For the first time in Sri Lanka, Prof. Madurasinghe has come forward to introduce a unique programme that will show you how to harness the cybernetic powers of your brain to gain greater health and enhanced mental functioning. It is for discerning men and women to gain mastery of their minds and tread the Path of Phenomenal Personal Growth.

Prof. Madurasinghe said that as we think so are we, therefore by proper thinking, we could make or break ourselves. Winners are made and we need to learn the secrets of orderly thinking which follow well tested rules.

After attending all eight sessions, with two sessions a week spread over a period of one month, and daily practising the skills for forty days, a person will know how to focus on one thing at a time and tap deeper into the reservoir of his own consciousness. It will help them to insulate themselves from stress and correct various health problems.

Students will learn: How to remain calm all the time. How to sleep no matter how anxious you may be and wake up at the right time without an alarm clock; How to be alert and energized all the time; How to dream solutions to your problems.

The programme he said will also teach how to practice powerful visualization that is a key to achieving your life’s ambitions. "The American diver Laura Wilkinson broke three toes and was unable to go into water. She had sat for hours on the diving platform and several times made positive visualizations that won her a Gold in 2000 Olympics. The visualization has another advantage. The brain motivates us by carrying an image of where we are going and how we will feel when we get there. Visualization can also be very powerful when you make a speech or deliver a briefing. Some have used it to even remove body tumours, remove impulsive habits and gain optimal health."

Prof. Madurasinghe emphasized that these skills cannot be learnt by attending a one-day or week end seminar and need to be practiced over at least 40 days. The participants will also have an opportunity to look deeper at their own negative traits and character to eliminate any unwanted areas.

The first session will be held at the distance Learning Centre (DLC), 28/10 Malalasekara Mawatha, Colombo 7 (SLIDA premises): Every Monday and Wednesday from 7-9 PM: The first lecture which includes a deep relaxation session will be held on November 11, 2002 and is free to all. This is a World Bank funded project.

He is an internationally known scholar and specialist on Stress Management and Cognitive Science with an MA., MS(Psy) PhD., PhD (Cog Sc)., and original research on altered states of consciousness to his credit.
