CEB’s best is not good enough for Sri Lanka

Following the third islandwide power failure since the beginning of this year, Mr. Zubair, Chairman, CEB came on the TV on January 12, 2003 and said that they are doing their best to provide a reliable supply. These frequent power failures are admittedly despite these best efforts.

Clearly, the best efforts of Mr. Zubair and his team are not good enough for our country. It is high time they are changed.

Why are we persisting with the same men for so long, despite their inefficiency and/or corruption, jeopardizing the future of this country?

It may be too late unless we change them now. Power sector has become the gold mines of Sri Lanka and every one seems to be digging for gold rather than delivering power.
