Shantha J. R. Pieris, Attorney-at-Law, and a post graduate student of the University of Iowa, USA, received the prestigious Honorary Award Recognition by The National Dean‘s List 2001—2002 for his outstanding academic contribution.

The National Dean‘s List is the largest, most prestigious publication in the United States recognizing gifted students selected by their deans, comparable faculty members of other organizations.

Both Shantha and wife Shayani are studying for their PhDs in the University of Iowa. Shantha is an old boy of Royal College, and son of Michael and Nesta Pieris.
