Free risk assessment from Ceylinco Cancer Detection Centre The Ceylinco Cancer Detection Centre, Sri Lankas only dedicated facility for cancer screening, is offering free Risk Assessment to the public from Monday, April 7, which was World Health Day. The Centre said free risk assessment by specialist medical professionals would be available up to April 30 to anybody who calls in for an appointment. Risk assessment is the first step towards identifying whether an individual is at risk of getting cancer. The procedure is conducted to international standards prescribed by the Washington Cancer Institute, and is meant for apparently healthy people who do not necessarily perceive themselves to be at risk."Our team of doctors and medical assistants will be standing by to perform this service for anybody who wants it," Mr. R. Renganathan Deputy Chairman of Ceylinco Health care Services Ltd., said. "This will also help create better awareness about the benefit of early detection of cancer through screening." Established in collaboration with the world renowned Washington Cancer Institute, the Cancer Detection Centre is a ground-breaking project of Ceylinco Health care Services Ltd., (CHSL) a subsidiary of Ceylinco Life, the countrys largest private sector insurer. The Ceylinco Cancer Detection Centre is equipped for oral, breast, colorectal, stomach and cervical cancer screening, as well as for genetic testing to identify high-risk families. Tests such as mammography, Colonoscopy, endoscopy, laryngoscopy, ultrasound screening and x-ray are performed at the centre in comfortable and pleasant surroundings. The newest additions to its facilities are a chemotherapy infusion facility and a genetic screening and counselling facility. |
