Awareness on ILOC and Sahanaya

At the request of, Amara Piyaseeli Ratnayake, Minister of Women’s Affairs, the Ministry of Industries has organised a Conference to create awareness on the Indian Line of Credit and Sahanya Loan Scheme among the small and medium scale entrepreneurs of the Wayamba Region on May 10 at 10 a.m. at the Wariyapola Town Hall.

The facilitator of the conference is, Rohitha Bogollagama, Minister of Industries.

The objective of these credit schemes will be to promote the growth of industrial sector and create an entrepreneurial spirit that will encourage long term investment using these credit lines as a vehicle. As the Indian Line of Credit is in the form of goods and services; only imports from India will qualify for this credit line.

The sectors encouraged by the Sahanya Loan Scheme are small, medium and micro-enterprises, agriculture and agro-based industries, transport of goods and products, export oriented projects’ manufacturing industries, land based activities of the fisheries sector, food processing, packaging, export oriented projects and import substitution and labour intensive projects.

Bank loans, technological support, land, water and infrastructure facilities for the small and medium scale industries will be the focus of attention at this important meeting.
