Hearing of Maligawa attack case put off for May 26

KANDY — The High Court Judge Mr. D. S. C. Lekamwasam put off the hearing of the Sri Dalada Maligawa bomb attack case for May 26.

The postponement was following an information of absence by the attorney for the accused in the case, A. Vinayagarmoorthi MP.

After recording evidence of the first witness in the case on Monday (12) Mr. Lekamwasam put off further hearing for the following day May (13).

Having taken into consideration the absence of the attorney for the accused the judge put off the hearing till May 26.

In this case four are indicted with the attack on the sacred place on January 25, 1998.

The first accused is absconding.
