Switzerland donates Rs. 7 m. flood relief
Deeply saddened about the tragic natural disaster which struck the Western, Southern and Sabaragamuwa provinces, the Swiss Government expresses its condolences to the Sri Lanka Government and to all affected families.
In support of the affected population, the Swiss Government has allocated the amount of 100,000 Swiss francs (approx. LKR 7 million). The donation will be channelled through the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies. The financial assistance comes as the response to the Federations emergency appeal which is earmarked to assist up to 25,000 families in their struggle for immediate survival.
