The Financial Year 2002/2003 under review has been a one-of achievement for the Confifi Group Hotels. Highest ever revenue and respectable profits have been reported which is through the focus on operational efficiency, staff productivity, service standards; through also the development of the employees who contribute more effectively to the goals of strengthening which operates to sustain growth, enhance profitability and more importantly ensure the comfort and convenience of the valuable clientele of the Confifi Group Hotels.

The company spokesman attributed the turnaround in fortune, despite a difficult year to the strengthening of tourist arrivals in the wake of the current peace process.

The Confifi Group Hotels owns and manages four properties in Beruwela namely the Eden Resort & Spa, Riverina Hotel, Club Palm Garden & the Confifi Beach Hotel.

Eden Resort & Spa - recorded a 65% increase in net revenue from 157 million achieved in the previous year to Rs. 260 million for the current financial year with a tremendous reversal in profitability of 235% recording a net profit of Rs. 44.5 million for the financial year under review. A five star hotel established in 1994 was the pioneer to develop the first spa facility of international standards. Eden is considered as one of the most eco-friendly latest generation hotels well equipped with many facilities and back house systems. A total of 158 rooms, 24 deluxe rooms and 6 specialised suites, butler service and a dedicated executive lounge, the Eden Resort & Spa continues to focus on discerning clients looking for the upper end in terms of levels of service and comfort. Eden Resort & Spa is owned and operated by the Confifi Group.

Riverina Hotel - one of the largest resort hotels in Sri Lanka with a total of 192 rooms, 3 suites, 10 family rooms- well equipped with modern facilities, an Ayurveda Villa, kids mini club, gymnasium, cyber dens, water sports facilities, equestrian riding school etc. recorded a stunning turnaround in both turnover and net profitability. The turnover rose from 157.8 million from the previous year to Rs. 234 million increasing a staggering 595% from the previous year to a net profit of Rs. 60.9 Million. The Riverina Ayurveda Villa is very popular and patronized strongly by the German, Swiss and Austrian markets.

Club Palm Garden - a resort hotel of 142 rooms purely on the Club concept providing many water sports and outdoor activities - archery, animation etc. recorded an increase of 56% in net revenue from Rs. 76, million achieved in the previous year to Rs. 119 million with a net profit of Rs. 49 million.

The significant achievement in the profit turnover for the financial year concluded has boosted the confidence of the Confifi Group Hotels towards a continues upward trend in productivity and excellence, stated the company spokesman.
