It’s basket-ball, stupid!

I like almost all sports. However, I dislike the game of basket-ball. I have developed this feeling about basket-ball, because whenever I watch this game played, I have a feeling that this game is played in an unfair manner.

In most team games, the teams competing each other are evenly poised, but in the end one team emerges winner because that team played better than the other team. In basket-ball it is different - always the team with taller players has the advantage over the other team with shorter players. This encourages teams to bring in very tall players. This is unfair by the team who has short players.

I feel, basket-ball teams should be categorized into different groups like in the game of boxing. In boxing, a short and light weight boxer is not pitched against a taller and heavy boxer. They are categorized and pitched against another in a fair manner. Similarly, in basket-ball, for example, if the average height of the team is 7 ft. They must always be pitched against a similar team. It would be unfair for this team to be pitched against a team whose average height is 5 ft.

If I am wrong in my thinking, will someone, especially from the Basket ball Federation please explain why I am wrong?
