James Finlay rewarded for best designed trade stall

In conjunction with the recently concluded International Tea Convention, a spectacular International Tea Exhibition was organized by the Colombo Tea Traders’ Association (CTTA) and the Sri Lanka Tea Board, in association with the Sri Lanka Tea Cluster, at the new Exhibition Wing of the BMICH.

The Tea Exhibition attracted the wide participation of major players in the Tea Industry, with nearly 100 stalls representing export companies, plantation companies, suppliers of packing machinery, production material, and packing material, shipping lines, banks, trade journals and universities, amongst which there were a number of foreign participants.

Apart from members of all Sectors of the Industry, delegates at the Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) Inter Governmental Group’s Session on Tea, delegates at the International Tea Convention and the participants at the Industry Workshops conducted concurrently, visited the Exhibition and were greatly impressed by the wide spectrum of participants and the high standard of product presentation.

A panel of eminent members of the Industry found it a difficult task selecting the best designed trade stalls and, after a great deal of deliberation, identified the following for awards.

1st Runner-Up : Stassen Ltd

2nd Runner-Up : Varna Ltd
