Your Sunday issue of 22.6.03 carried the news item titled ‘People should know whom they vote for:Kapukotuwa’, where the UNP General Secretary, Senarath Kapukotuwa, in his wisdom had said: "The people of this country must understand whom they are voting for". "If people vote for fellows with underworld links, they will get what they deserve."

As a voter, I am a fool and had been fooled by the leaders of the political parties, who nominated these "fellows with underworld links".

May I, as well as others who voted wish to know who is to be blamed for electing undesirables to parliament. Are they the innocent voters or the party leaders?

This shows the depth of thinking of Mr. Kapukotuwa, the UNP General Secretary. Please put your house first of all!
