Marriages are indicated by the little lines (or line) that start on the side of the hand just below the little finger and run over onto the pad of flesh below the little finger. Usually you will find several light lines, indicating romances, and one or more lines that are strong and clear. These show actual unions. If there is more than one marriage, the lower line represents the earlier one; the upper lines, a second, third, and so on. If there is only one marriage indicated, the nearer it is to the base of the little finger, the later in life it will be.
Little lines that run down to intersect the marriage line but do not cross through it indicate children that will be born to the marriage.
Judging the marriage lines:
`95 One long clear marriage line shows a happy marriage that lasts a lifetime.
`95 A fork at the start of the marriage line (toward the back of the hand) shows a long engagement.
`95 A fork at the end (toward the palm) shows a separation, with or without divorce.
`95 A line crossing the marriage line at the end shows marriage ending in death or divorce.
`95 An overlapped or double marriage line indicates an affair with another while married.
`95 A marriage line that breaks and then resumes with overlapping shows separation followed by reunion.
`95 A series of light lines but none strong shows a number of affairs but little chance of marriage.
When evaluating the marriage prospects, consider also the quality of the heart line and other signs of luck in love like the girdle of Venus.
