Thirty-one-year old M.Amarapadma, a member of the Sri Lanka Amateur Golf Team beat overnight leader Anura Rohana in the First extra playoff hole to win the 2003 Sri Lanka Open Golf Championship played at the Royal Colombo Golf Club.

Amarapadma posted a 2 under par 69 with birdies on the 18th and 1st hole of the playoff. Rohana was off form carding a 6 over par 77, to squander a 7-shot lead over 18 holes. Lalith Kumara, Nandasena Perera and J.Kumar finished tied for the third place 3 shots behind Amarapadma and Rohana.
