Religious ceremony to donate Maha Sanghavasa

A religious ceremony to donate a Maha Sanghavasa to the Maha Sangha for the use of the hundred Buddhist monks reside at the Alioluara Sri Parakum Monastery at Suriayawewa whose history goes back more than twenty centuries to the reign of King Mahanaga was held on October 03, 2003.

Donation of this new Sanghavasa wasmade by Mrs. Milina Sumathipala, Chairperson of the All Ceylon Buddhist Congress at an almsgiving for hundred Buddhist monks headed by Ven. Maduluwawe Sobhita, Chief Incumbent of the Naga Vihara, Kotte and Ven. Kolonnawe Sumangala of the Devram Vehera, Pannipitiya. This religious ceremony was held under the auspices of Ven. Gatamane Vijitha, Viharadhipathi, Alioluara, Sri Parakum Vihara, Suriyawewa.
