Lanka Bell to boost SSCís premier league cricket
Lanka Bell has signed a 3-year renewable contract for the sponsorship of premier league cricket at the Singhalese Sports Club (SSC). Each season, Lanka Bell will provide 25 SSC premier cricket team members branded playing clothes including T-shirts and caps. Lanka Bell will also sponsor the annual cricket match between SSC and NCC for the J. R. Jayewardene Trophy in 2004.
"We are pleased to accept the sponsorship package offered by Lanka Bell, which will help our club and our premier league cricketers. We have agreed to give Lanka Bell exclusive sponsorship for cricket and will not appoint any co-sponsors during the 3 years contract period", said Mahinda Halangoda Chairman of the SSC Cricket House Committee, at the signing of the sponsorship agreement. Lanka Bellís General Manager Finance, Suren Goonewardene said: "We are proud to be the official sponsor of a prestigious cricket club with a history of over 100 years, which has produced many fine cricketers who have excelled in local club cricket as well as in tests and international one dayers."
As the official sponsor, Lanka Bell will have many prominent locations at the SSC cricket grounds reserved exclusively for Lanka Bell branding. They will include the hoarding beneath the home teamís changing room, the pavilion next to the former scoreboard, drinks trolley, notice board at the entrance to the SSC pavilion, and stairways to the dressing rooms.
SSC is a private club established for sports, recreation and social amenities of its members. Lanka Bell is a BOI approved company that provides a wide range of voice, data and internet based services, and is backed by several global giants.
