Kuruwita police on Sunday arrested the UNP Kuruwita Pradeshiya Sabah member who had abducted JVP supporter after attacking a JVP meeting last Saturday (4).

The UNP Pradeshiya Sabha member I. Kularatna had been accused of attacking a JVP meeting held at a house in Kebiliyana, Kuruwita, in the presence of Ratnapura JVP MP, Achala Jagoda and later abducted a JVP supporter . The JVP supporter B. K. Tisara Chaminda a resident of Galella, Amunutenna was later found dumped at a place several miles away by the UNP PS member.

Kuruwita Police took the UNP PS member into custody on Sunday noon at Kuruwita, police sources said.

Kuruwita police is conducting further investigations.
