|SLAF Squash from Oct. 11-18

The third Sri Lanka air Force Open & annual Ranking Squash Tournament, sponsored by the Sri Lanka Air Force & organized and conducted by the Sri Lanka Squash Federation will be held from October 11 to18.
The preliminary rounds will be from October 11 to 17, at the Sri Lanka Air Force Squash Complex in Bullers Road, Colombo and thereafter the venue will shift to the Sri Lanka Air Force Base, Katunayake for the finals on October 18.
The first ever SLAF Open Squash Tournament was conducted in 2001 to mark the Golden Jubilee of the Sri Lanka Air Force. The second tournament received Ranking Status and was organised and conducted by the Sri Lanka Squash Federation. The Sri Lanka Squash Federation has made this event an Annual National Ranking Tournament in view of the excellent squash courts and facilities available at the Sri Lanka Air Force Sports Complex in Bullers Road and Katunayake.
It is expected that all top ranked men, women, boys and girls would participate. This 8 day tournament will consist of 17 events which include men and womens open mens and womens intermediate (Over 35), masters over 45, over 50, boys & girls Under 11, 13, 15, 17, 19 and a plate event for mens open losers in the first and second round.
All winners and runners-up will receive cash awards, trophies and certificates. Entries should be handed over direct to the Hon. Secretary Sri Lanka Squash Federation Sqdr. Ldr. Jaliya Jayasekera at the Air Force Sports Complex, Bullers Road, Colombo. The age cut off date will be October 18, 2003.
The finals will be worked out on the 18th Saturday 2003 from 2 p.m. onwards. The Commander of the Sri Lanka Air Force, Air Marshal Donald Perera will grace the occasion and distribute the awards.
