Kimarli Fernando heads corporate banking at Standard Chartered

Ms. Kimarli Fernando has been named Head of Corporate Banking at the Standard Chartered Bank (SCB) in Sri Lanka, the bank announced in a news release.

Fernando who had earlier served Deutsche Bank Group here for 14 years held a number of senior positions including Head of Corporate Banking in that bank.

A law graduate of London School of Economics and a barrister of Lincolnís Inn, Fernando is also an attorney-at-law in Sri Lanka and has completed a Certificate on Human Rights.

She said that she is pleased to be part of the SCB team that has been long committed to the local market for over 100 years if the Grindlays and SCB presence in this country is added up. Grindlays has now been absorbed by SCB.

"It is very exciting to be a part of Standard Chartered Bank at this stage of the countryís development," she said.
