Extradition warrant case on Nov. 18

An extradition warrant issued by the Gracedale Municipal court of California on Thilak Jayawardena, a lecturer of Sabaragamuwa University and a priest will be taken up before the Colombo High Court Judge Sri Skandharaja on November 18.

He was alleged to have committed child abuse while in California, USA and the Gracedale municipal court of California had issued a warrant on him on May 29, 2002 and later the Ministry of Justice of USA had claimed the accused to be extradited to USA for his trial.

When he was produced before the Colombo High Court on October 28, he was released on bail by High Court Judge Sri Skandharaja and ordered to appear before the court on November 18.
