Pan Asia Bank opens trade, finance office Pan Asia Bank opened an exclusive Trade Finance office amidst the bustling trade hub in Pettah at No 39, Dam Street, yesterday. The office set up as part of the Bank’s plans to providing their clients with high value added services and convenient banking met with immediate success. The eminent businessmen present expressed their support to this novel idea by establishing letters of credit of high value on the opening day which Officials of the Bank confirmed totalled and excess of US$ 1 million. Chief guest at the occasion, the Chairman of the Bank Abeyratne Bandara, thanked the invitees for their support and said that although there are small, they mean big business and that is why they have set ourselves in the heart of the trading community with an objective of servicing our customers at their convenience. The Managing Director/CEO of the Bank Nadaragah in his welcome address assured customers that Pan Asia Bank will strive to improve their services even further and most importantly offer high value added service at no extra cost. "The Bank’s vision is to become the most customer preferred commercial bank in Sri Lanka, and the opening of the Trade Finance office has been seen by many as a step towards this direction." The Trade Finance office employs specially trained staff in International Trade and will process applications for the establishment of letters of credit, issue shipping indemnities, handle collection of import bills, negotiate /purchase export documents and issue pay-orders for duty payments", said Nelun Fernando AGM International. |
