Investment banker visits cultural triangle, beach resorts

Jean Jacques Mertens, Associate Director, European Investment Bank, Luxembourgh, accompanied by his wife, Catherine, was in Sri Lanka on holiday, visiting various parts of the country recently.

Their tour included the cultural triangle, the central hills, games sanctuaries, Udawalawe, Yala and also the south west beach side resort hotels.

Mr. and Mrs. Mertens in the company of, Managing Director of Finlays Travels, Wg. Cdr. Noel and Hyacinth Fernando.

They said that they were appreciative of the country’s natural beauty, the scenic sights, the cultural heritage, which they disclosed as "steeped in history", and also the standards of services rendered to them during their stay at Kandalama, Citadel, Grand Hotel, Yala Safari Hotel, Taj Exotica and whilst in Colombo at the Colombo Plaza.
