by Kalinga Weerakkody
The LTTE arrested four Tamils for reportedly conspiring to attack the Batticaloa-Ampara LTTE military leader Karuna Amman on LTTE ‘heroes day’ (November 27).

The attack had been planned to be executed during Karuna’s speech at the biggest LTTE camp in the East ‘Tharavi’ Tharavikulam in Batticaloa.

Sources said that the festival had been called off before the scheduled time stating bad weather. Meanwhile information received from the East stated that four persons had been killed by floods that ravaged Batticaloa last week.

Two have been identified as LTTE cadres and the other two as supporters.

The two supporters had been identified as Nadaraja Pulendran of Vipulanandapuram in Chenkaladi and Amarasingham Amararaj of Karadiyanaru in the uncleared areas.
