Korean overseas volunteers in Sri Lanka

A new batch of Korean Overseas Volunteers (KOVs) will arrive in Sri Lanka on December 4, 2003.

The batch of sixteen volunteers will be the 14th batch of KOVs to arrive in Sri Lanka in accordance with an agreement between the Korean International Cooperation Agency (KOICA) and the Democratic Socialist Republic of Sri Lanka.

The volunteers are professionals in various fields and will function as instructors in their respective fields in universities, technical training colleges, vocational training centres and schools in Sri Lanka.

The new batch of volunteers consists of qualified professionals in the areas of mechanical engineering computer, veternary medicine, geography, chemistry, dress making, Korean language teaching, horticulture, electronics, physical education and taekwondo.

The volunteers will be stationed in Sri Lanka for a period of two years.
