"Fishing in troubled waters"

A minister from the upcountry says that if a "National Government" is formed he will join the LTTE. It is well and good if he decides so as he will be tamed, disciplined and his pocket will be looked at by "eagle eyes". These politicians have been fishing in troubled waters from the time of 1978. The upcountry politicians became "King makers" because of the PR system introduced by the JR Government. Old Thondaman even left the "National Thamil Alliance" formed by all the Tamil parties in 1972 to get a minister post in the JR Government of 1977. Even when the Tamils were killed in 1983 he clung on to power. Now Junior Thondaman wants "Eelam" in the upcountry with the help of LTTE. National Government is a must to save the country.
