Year 5 scholarship leak Duty officers grilled for 11 hours

A team of investigating officers from the North-East Provincial Ministry of Education headed by Senior Assistant Secretary M. Haniffa grilled 36 duty officers from coordinators to invigilators for 11 hours at Sammanthurai zonal education office over the alleged leakage of year 5 scholarship examination question papers.

The alleged leak was first splashed across the front page of ‘The Island’ on December 12 and it was also raised in parliament by Digamadulla MP Ferial Ashroff.

It was alleged that cheating had taken place at an exam centre in Sainthamaruthu with the connivance of exam supervisors.
