Second intíl airport at Koggala ó Minister Mangala

Galle ó The Ports, Aviation and Media Minister Mangala Samaraweera said that the government has decided to construct the second international airport at Koggala.

The Minister said so at the Galle harbour on the 25th anniversary of Sri Lanka Ports Authority.

The Minister said that the Ports Authority was established in 1979.

All governments in power rendered a yeomen service to develop this sector. Reports have already been completed on development work of Galle and Hambantota ports.

900 acres of lands had been earmarked to develop the Koggala airport in to an international airport.

The Minister promised to start a new boat service from Galle jetty to Hikkaduwa by next month targeting tourists.

Deputy Minister Dayasitha Perera, Chairman, Sri Lanka Ports Authority Dileepa Wijesundara also spoke.
