Minister of Trade and Chief Government Whip,
Jeyaraj Fernandopulle told Parliament yesterday (7) that public
servants will get a pay hike with the Budget proposals in
November.
He was replying to a question by the UNP member
of Parliament Ravi Karunanayake.
Fernandopulle told the House "We will do what
you could not do by giving public servants a fair pay hike. We
have already looked into the salary increases as well as salary
anomalies of various grades of public servants which will also
be rectified in our Budget proposals.
" We are going to do what your government could
not do. We have also appointed a committee to look into the
salary anomalies in the government health sector and these too
will be rectified," he said.
