The Federated Merchandising Group chose Colombo as the venue for this year’s Asia/Europe Annual General Meeting. The delegation took the opportunity to visit manufacturers and marketers who supply products to the Federated Departmental Stores.

Ms. Wong said that the delegation was very impressed with the latest technology, innovation, manufacturing processes, new product development and marketing at DPL. She added that DPL was ‘truly a world class company’.

DPL’s Chairman Sunil G. Wijesinha said that the fact that DPL had been supplying tableware to The Federated Merchandising Group for the past fourteen years showed the confidence the Group had in its range of products. The Company recently engaged the services of German expert Dr. Wolf Karnagel to direct the DPL team in improving and developing new designs. Karnagel counts several years in industrial designing and has been a freelance designer for Amboss, Hutschenreuther, lonia, Lufthansa, Rosenthal, Villeroy and Boch.
