The NSB has decided to throws a life belt to
tsunami victims carrying housing loans with the bank by offering
them a relief package, the bank said in a news release.
"As your family bank, NSB wants to make the best
effort to assist those who miraculously survived. That’s why
we’ve decided to offer relief on housing loans," NSB General
Manager Eastman Narangoda said.
Those affected carrying NSB housing loans have
been requested to submit information about their destroyed
houses and properties to the nearest National Savings Bank
Branch, Postal Banking Branch or to the Credit Division of NSB
Head Office.
"In the absence of the original applicant, an
immediate family member or a close relative will be eligible to
request for special relief. Further information on relief on
housing loans can be obtained by the above-mentioned NSB network
and will be offered, based on the information received."
