Lionel Fernando quits Seylan Bank board

Mr. Lionel Fernando, retired senior public servant and former ambassador has resigned from the board of directors of the Seylan Bank Limited with effect from January 7, the Colombo Stock Exchange (CSE) has been notified.

Fernando who was recently named chairman of the Disaster Relief Monitoring Unit by the Human Rights Commission was appointed to the Seylan board last year.

CSE has also been informed of the appointment of three new directors to Lankem Development Limited – Messrs. A. Rajaratnam, M. A. A. Mendis and D. L. Vitharana, all with effect from January 19.

Rajaratnam has also been named the Deputy Managing Director of Lankem Ceylon Limited with effect from January 19 while Mendis and Vitharana have been appointed executive directors of that company also with effect from the same date.
