Telecom disconnects billion rupee defaulter in UK

Sri Lanka Telecom (SLT) is carrying huge US$ 10 million defaulted payments from a British company organized under the UK laws for establishing and operating a SLT branded calling card in the UK.

This company, Premier Communications International Limited (PCI), had obtained an enjoining order restraining SLT from withdrawing its facilities.

SLT has reported to the Colombo Stock Exchange that they have now obtained a court order vacating the enjoining order obtained by PCI and has now disconnected the PCI circuit connection.

SLT has reported to the Stock Exchange that it was now contemplating legal action for the recovery of the debt.
