Rs. 3.5 billion as donations for Tsunami disaster — CB

The Central Bank last week announced that Rs. 3,522 million has been received as at January 27, 2005 as donations from both foreign and local individuals and organizations through the banking system towards tsunami disaster relief. This includes Rs. 453 million received by the government through the Central Bank and the two state banks for this purpose, it said.
