Lankem Ceylon Limited, manufacturers and
marketers of Robbialac paints were awarded with the ‘Excellence
Award’ for The Best Presented Stall by the Sri Lanka Institute
of Architects, at the recently held Architect 2005 Exhibition.
The award was given away for the display stall, which
represented the most timely paradigm shift of Lankem Robbialac.
In order to enhance quality of life by enhancing
the ambiance of one’s home, Lankem Robbialac is heading for a
turning point in their strategy by shifting the corporate
paradigm from ‘seller of paint’ to ‘provider of colour to life’.
The Lankem Robbialac’s display stall at
Architect 2005, projecting colour as a manifestation of
self-personality, was probably the only stall, which did not
exhibit the corporate image through products, brand photos and
colour cards. The stall was designed in full white, touched with
fusion of colours and glimmered by special lighting effects.
Natural leaves dipped in colour were used in order to add more
depth to the colour fusion. No branding was carved or imprinted
except for the corporate name and logo, which was displayed on
the panel at the entrance to the stall.
"In designing the stall, we spent a lot of time
in preparation, but spent very little in terms of cost. We
believe that creativity is not matter of cost but a matter of
imagination. Likewise, selecting colours when selecting paint,
involves a lot of imagination. Before purchasing paint, the
consumer should be fully confident about the colour selection.
Because once you go for a particular colour, you
will have to live with it at least for a couple of years. Just
looking at colour cards at dusty hardware shops does not create
space for the right selection. There should be a place with a
more relaxed and soothing ambiance in order to allow your
imagination to mingle. That is why we pioneered in introducing
the Robbialac Colour Studio concept. The stall at Architect 2005
exhibition basically is an extension of the above-mentioned
concept." says Mr. Ruwan Weerasinghe, General Manager (Consumer
Products) of Lankem Ceylon Limited.
The fully digitised state of the art Robbialac
Colour Studios of Lankem Ceylon Limited at Kohuwala and Kandana

capacity of matching 15,000 colours, which is programmed in the
digital system, or any colour to the taste of the consumer. The
Robbialac Colour Studios are equipped with Colour Spectro Photo
Meters, which has the capability of scanning any colour or
shade. Also the entire range of Robbialac paints are made

Weerasinghe.
