"There is no strike either in the Petroleum Corporation or the Ceylon Electricity Board and people should not panic over a fuel shortage or power cut", Chairman Petroleum, Jaliya Medagama said yesterday (28).

He said some electronic media station had reported a non-existent strike in the Petroleum but the normal supplies and distribution of fuel was continuing without a problem.

Meanwhile, the Government Information Department, in a press release issued yesterday (28), said "The Party Leaders of the UPFA Government have decided that a final decision on the restructuring of the Ceylon Electricity Board and the Ceylon Petroleum Corporation be taken after having further discussions with the relevant trade unions."
