Everyone
dreams of having a beautiful skin. Many try all sorts of beauty
products and diets to have their skin look nice and healthy,
while a few like Manoja Dias Bandaranaike are born with a clear
smooth and beautiful skin.
22 year old Air Hostess for Sri Lankan Airlines
and past pupil of Ladies College Manoja Dias Bandaranaike was
crowned Miss Beautiful Skin at the 2005 Glow Miss. Sri Lanka for
Miss. Universe which was held recently at Water’s Edge.
"I believe beautiful skin is all about being
happy. When you’re happy it shows through your skin" said Manoja
crediting her inner happiness for her clear skin. She swears by
the fact that happiness along with a dash of clear eating will
work wonders on anyone’s health and skin.
"I eat a lot of vegetables. The fresh and lesser
cooked they are, the better they are for your health. Not to
mention cereals and lots and lots of water. I drink water all
the time. . I have noticed that the skin feels dry when it lacks
water. It keeps me cool and it flushes out all the toxic I might
have within my body" she added.
Talking about the Miss. Sri Lanka pageant Manoja
said it was the first pageant she took apart in and most
probably will be her last. "I’ m the shy type. I don’t like the
public attention I m getting, though it’s nice – at times.
People think there are cat fights among the contestants. But
it’s not true at all. I made a few nice friends and they all are
good sports."
Her childhood dream was to be a fashion designer
or a beautician. But she has no regrets of being an Air hostess.
"At 22 I have travelled to many countries and met so many
different people, which would not have been possible if I was in
another profession. I love my job, especially the free time we
get in the countries we land. I get to do so much shopping which
I love. Sometimes I buy things which I know I will never even
use or wear, simply because it looks good"
Though her job takes her to all corners of the
globe, this beauty queen says there is no place like home,
especially when it comes to her favourite rice and curry meal.
"You are what you eat – as long as you get your diet right. I’m
addicted to chocolates. I m lucky, I don’t get pimples.
Speaking on Glow Manoja guarantees that it
really does work. "I know there are many products in the market
which promises clear skin and none of it delivers what it
promises. But trust me, this does. I use it daily and it’s safe.
I feel a difference because it delivers what it promises. A
radiant and glowing skin since Glow nourishes and cleanses your
skin form the inside. "
The only child, Manoja loves animals. "I have a
hen, a pig called Mr. Chops, a rabbit named malla and a cat who
imitates me. I used to have a donkey too. It’s practically a
farm at home. "
Her love for animals, shopping, chocolates and
life has helped her live a balanced lifestyle and keep a healthy
radiant skin.
