The Divisional Secretary, Kaththankudi in the Batticaloa District, A.L.M.Faleel was killed by the LTTE pistol gang yesterday (2).

He was shot by two members of the LTTE who had come on motor cycle to the Divisional Secretary’s Office. Though they fired two shots at him only one shot, which hit his chest, was fatal police said.

There was confusion and pandemonium in the office and the area immediately after the murder. It was known that the LTTE had threatened the life of 40-year-old Faleel, but he had not taken notice of several threats made to him by the terrorist group police said.
