Niluka Karunaratne retained the menís
singles title for the fifth year in a row, while Chandrika de
Silva won a triple at the Senior National Badminton
Championships which ended at the Royal College Indoor Stadium,
Reid Avenue, on Monday.
Karunaratne defeated fourth seed
Thushara Edirisinghe 15-0, 15-4 in the menís singles final and
Chandrika de Silva had the better of Nadeesha Gayanthi 11-2,
11-2 in the womenís singles final.
Chandrika had earlier clinched the
womenís doubles title with partner Thilini Jayasinghe as they
defeated the combination of Nadeesha Gayanthi and Rasangi
Ranatunga 15-5, 17-15 in the final.
Chandrika also combined with Thushara
Edirisinghe and overcame Niluka Karunaratne and Thilini
Jayasinghe 15-8, 7-15, 15-10 in the mixed doubles final.
