The gold award for the most productive school
was won by a school situated in one of the most remote areas.
Panawala Vidyalaya, Emblipitiya in a competition, involving
3,000 schools island-wide, conducted by the Education
Department.
It won the award for the most productive school
presented by Minister of Education Susil Premajayantha at a
function held in Colombo. The Principal Ranjith Maleviarachchi
and the staff were felicitated at function held at Embilipitiya
with a large gathering of parents and residents of the area, the
Sabaragamuwa Provincial Council yesterday (17) said.
The Chief Minister Sabaragamuwa Province, who
was chief guest at the occasion, said the entire province and
especially the people of Panawala were proud of the signal
achievement made by the school's principal, tutorial staff and
the students.
