where Buddhists all across Sri Lanka will commemorate Vesak.
Commenting on SLIC’s involvement with these Vesak festivities,
Personal Lines of Sri Lanka Insurance Corporation Chief
Operating Officer, Isuru Tillakawardana, said: ‘As a national
institution we are very happy to be involved in this national
festival, where the entire country is celebrating Vesak. We came
forward to sponsor this years Vesak celebrations in Bauddhaloka
Mawatha in that background and we identified the efforts made by
the All Ceylon Buddhist Congress in the past years to organise
this celebration. This event, which has taken predominance on
the calendar as one of the most noteworthy Vesak celebrations,
was seen as the most fitting with Sri Lanka Insurance’s desire
to contribute towards strengthening and promoting Buddhism in
Sri Lanka. It is also our pleasure to work with such an
efficient organization as the All Ceylon Buddhist Congress which
has always taken steps to sustain and develop Buddhist order.
