"Paramitha" a single episode
teledrama series based on the ancient and renowned Pansiya Panas
Jataka Katha is being produced under the sponsorship of People’s
Bank as a part of its corporate social responsibility
initiative.
The "Paramitha" series will debut on Saturday 13th May 2006
in commemoration of the 2550th Buddha Jayanthiya which falls
this year.
The bank will initially sponsor the production and telecast
48 Jataka stories which will be telecast every Saturday at 7.30
pm on ITN. The mini screen series depicting exemplary human
qualities and values is launched to support the governments
"Child Centered Nation Building Programme" which focuses on
creating a better society through the younger generation. The
first episode titled "Athata Valalu Payata Gigiri" taken from
the Seri Vanija Jatakaya was presented to President Mahinda
Rajapaksa at a special meeting at Temple Trees recently. The
scripting and production of "Paramitha" has been undertaken by
Somaweera Senanayake and Thusitha De Silva.
"Paramitha" is yet another first from People’s Bank `85 the
bank of the people.
