Defence Ministry appeals for public cooperation |
|
The Operational Headquarters of the
Defence Ministry appeals to the general public to cooperate with
the Police and other security personnel engaged in search
operations, raids, security patrols and at road blocks and treat
all such operations as being carried out for the very safety of
the public in general. "Though such operations could cause
temporary inconvenience, remember that it is being done for the
safety of the country." the Operational Headquarters said.
They said the LTTE cadres could seek residential facilities
or vital information in exchange for large sums of money and
requested the public not to fall prey to their cunning moves and
to inform the nearest police or Army detachment, if anyone is
suspected to be an LTTE member or supportive of the Tigers.(S.S.)
